We are delighted to welcome back Caoimhin Porter back the club on a permanent transfer. The 22 year old right back enjoyed a successful spell with the club in the 2023/24 season, joining on loan from Derry City, as Institute went all the way to play-off final, only to miss out on promotion at the last hurdle.

On signing his new contract, Porter said he’s “Buzzing to be back in with all the lads. There was only one place I wanted to be, and it was here. I’m looking forward to the start of the season“.

Porter played a total of 15 games in the 2023/24 season for ‘Stute, contributing one goal.

New Club Website Launched

At Institute Football Club, we are delighted to announce the launch of our new-look website. The previous iteration of our website had been active for a number of years with little internal interaction as a number of link would take users to external websites.

With our new design, layout, and user interaction, we want out supports and viewers to gain more information from within the website.

NEW FEATURES

We have included a list of new features on the website, which will provide more interaction and further information from within the club, a number of these which we are very excited about:

  • Upcoming Fixture – Supporters will instantly be able to view our next Men’s Senior Team fixture along with a countdown timer until kick-off.
  • Fixtures Calendar – Supports can now access a complete list of our season’s fixtures using the calendar function. To view a fixture or result, simply click on any date with a coloured dot.
  • Downloadable Calendars – With the increase in popularity of online calendars, supporters can now add the club’s league fixtures to their own Apple, Outlook, or Google calendars by simply following the links available in our sidebar menu.
  • Player Profiles – Supporters can new view information and statistics about players that feature for Institute this season. Historical records will be added at a later time.
  • League Table – The league table will be updated on a regular basis so supporters will be able to keep track of how the club are currently performing.
  • Our Sponsors – Previously, our sponsors were not as easily visible or accessible. Now, we have them featured within their own section where users can click on their banner to be directed to the company’s own website.

There are many more features we’re looking to incorporate into the website over the coming months, including our youth academy, as well as our Institute Belles ladies team.

New Club Crest Revealed

Institute FC is proud to announce the unveiling of its newly updated club crest, blending tradition and familiarity with a contemporary twist. The new crest, which was the result of extensive consultation and feedback from board members, club supporters, and other stakeholders, aims to represent the club’s rich history while embracing a modern aesthetic.

Along with retaining the three key features of the existing and previous versions of the crest 98% of respondents were keen to add our year of inception, 1905. Previous iterations of the crest were also discussed with those long associated with the club.

The previous crest, although dear to many, was beginning to show its age and the overall design lacked the clarity and impact we wanted. We explored various design elements from other clubs and historical references, settling on a circular style that incorporates a dual banner, which was well-received during our consultations.

Feedback from club members and supporters played a crucial role in shaping the new design. “A new crest should embody modern design without destroying the legacy and history of the club. It needs to be a perfect blend of modern and traditional,” one supporter commented. Another emphasised, “We must move with the times and have a modern fresh look while retaining the history of the club but ensuring it is easily recognisable as Institute FC.”

The aim was to create a crest that feels both familiar and fresh. We wanted it to resonate with our loyal supporters while appealing to a new generation of fans.
