Institute U18’s in Post Lockdown Final

Wednesday 22nd July will mark Institute’s return to competitive football when our U18 squad, managed by Russell Porter, will meet Cliftonville in the Harry Cavan Youth Cup final.

The whole club is extremely proud of the achievement of our young U18 squad, and in normal circumstances we would be encouraging a big turn out to support the lads. Unfortunately, the ongoing Covid-19 regulations means that attendance at the game has to be severely restricted and only 25 people, including players and coaches, will be allowed access to the ground. 

We are sure this will be disappointing for proud parents and other family members as well as Institute supporters who would have been keen to travel to support our young players. However, the health and well-being of players, coaches, staff, officials, and supporters must still be the main priority in the current circumstances.

Nonetheless, we hope that our young players enjoy their day, play to their full potential, and view it as an opportunity to further develop the skills and attitudes that they will need as their careers progress and as they strive to  become an integral part of our senior squad.
