Deconstruction of Riverside Stadium

MCI Planning and Gravity Architects, acting on behalf of Institute FC, have today confirmed that our application for the deconstruction of the Riverside Stadium has been approved by Derry City & Strabane District Council Planning Committee.

Whilst this is clearly a sad day for the club and it’s supporters, it also marks another significant milestone towards achieving the aspirations set out in our Strategic Development Plan, published in 2019.

Further information will be available at the clubs AGM on Wednesday 15th June 2022 8.00pm in Brigade Cricket Club.

Brigade Cricket Club win All-Ireland Championship

Institute Football Club would like to congratulate Brigade Cricket Club in becoming T20 All-Ireland champions!

During the season, in which Wilton Park was designated as the venue for our home fixtures (after the flood in Drumahoe), Brigade very generously offered the club use of their cricket club facilities. To this very day, ‘Stute continue to maintain a great relationship with Brigade – using the cricket club for board meetings, first team meetings, Youth Academy presentations and also supporter club fundraisers.

The final, which was very closely contested, saw Brigade crowned champions by 8 runs. It was a performance that Brigade’s late chairman, and Institute fan, Roy Torrens, would have been proud of! We continue to think of Roy’s close family and friends.
